Montespertoli has always been synonymous with winemaking tradition, a place where history and passion for wine blend harmoniously with the land. Located in the heart of Tuscany, this area is renowned for its picturesque hills and vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see. Among the wineries in this region is ours, Montalbino, a place where the culture of wine is lived every day, accompanied by a warm welcome.

Montalbino: Native Grape Varieties and Organic Farming

Montalbino is a small, family-run Tuscan winery where wine production is a deep passion, reflecting values of authenticity and quality. The winery is known for producing traditional Tuscan wines, with a strong focus on enhancing the territory of Montespertoli, also known as the “City of Wine.” From the start, the winery has embraced sustainable, low-impact farming, preserving biodiversity and the organic richness of the soil to create unique and expressive wines. Since 2008, the winery has been certified organic, demonstrating its commitment to safeguarding the land’s integrity for future generations. Montalbino’s labels include Chianti Montespertoli DOCG, made from Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino grapes, the Montalbino red IGT featuring the rare Foglia Tonda and Canaiolo, as well as Trebbiano Toscano white wine and Sangiovese rosé IGT.

Wine Tastings and Tours at Montalbino

A visit to Montalbino is a journey into the Tuscan winemaking tradition. Guests can participate in guided tours of the winery and tastings where the wines are paired with local products, such as extra virgin olive oil, which is also produced by our farm. Our philosophy is clear: to bring high-quality wines to the table that respect the environment and the history of the land.

The historic winery has been renovated to make the most of the grapes, with each variety being vinified separately in temperature-controlled steel vats. The old concrete vats from the 1960s have been restored for fermentation and aging, with three of them converted into a unique tasting space. A former underground 2,000-hectoliter tank now houses oak barrels and barriques. Our winery is a place where functionality, architecture, and history come together.

Montespertoli: A Land of Excellent Wines

Montalbino is not the only winery in the Montespertoli area. Thanks to its ideal climate and long farming tradition, the region is home to many wineries producing fine wines, many of which are part of the Viticoltori di Montespertoli (Montespertoli Winemakers Association).

The Viticoltori di Montespertoli Association, founded in 2022, was born from shared conversations and a common vision for wine, guaranteeing product authenticity and landscape preservation while reinforcing the millennia-old bond between wine and land in Montespertoli. The goal is to showcase the vitality and beauty of the land through collective commitment.

The “Montespertoli Winemaker’s Pact” encompasses the association’s guiding principles: direct cultivation of grapes, sustainable farming practices, respect for raw materials, collaboration with the agricultural community, promotion of environmental sustainability, and openness to dialogue beyond the region.
